Services
AppleTree Speech uses a hybrid teletherapy, in-person model. Lori works with patients to develop a program tailored to the needs of the patient and the family, which may include home visits or community visits, along with teletherapy.
Evaluations
AppleTree Speech is experienced with diagnosing expressive and receptive language disorders, articulation disorders, pragmatic (social skills) disorders, voice disorders, and fluency disorders. Evaluations typically require a few sessions and are accompanied by a written report.
Individual Therapy
Children learn by playing. Lori uses a play-based, child-directed approach to individual therapy with little ones, which harnesses intrinsic motivation, increases attention and memory, and teaches communication skills in a natural, developmentally-informed way.
She uses the child and family-centered principles of Hanen, putting the parents into the therapy equation when possible. She believes partnering with families is the key to success in helping children meet their full potential.
Collaboration and IEP Support
Apple Tree Speech collaborates with related professionals to provide a highly informed and coordinated level of care. For school-aged children, Lori will coordinate with the school environment such as special education teachers, general education teachers, school psychologists, school SLPs, and occupational therapists. Lori will attend IEP meetings and give input into IEPs at no additional charge.
